About The Croft

The Croft is a single-storey bungalow tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac in Longhoughton, Northumberland. This spacious holiday home sits just a 20-minute walk from a gorgeous sandy beach and only 10 minutes by car from historic Alnwick. Perfect for families wanting coastal adventures without the crowds.

Set in a peaceful spot with an enclosed garden, you're perfectly positioned to explore Northumberland's stunning coastline. Walk to Longhoughton Beach through beautiful countryside or drive to nearby attractions like Dunstanburgh Castle and Craster Harbour. After long days exploring, soak your tired muscles in the fantastic hot tub.

The accommodation sleeps 6 guests across 3 bedrooms - a super-king with en-suite shower room and TV, another super-king (which can become twins if you're not that friendly) and a children's bunk room. There's a family bathroom with bath and shower, a fully-equipped kitchen/diner with TV, a comfy sitting room with French doors and even a conservatory with another TV. Basically, enough TVs that nobody needs to watch Strictly unless they want to.

Nearby attractions include Alnwick Castle (10 min drive) where Harry Potter was filmed, Howick Hall and Gardens (4.5 miles), Craster Harbour (7 miles) famous for its kippers and Warkworth Castle (12 miles/25 min drive). The Running Fox café is just 5 minutes' walk away for amazing cakes and bread.

The location of this property is perfect, it's so quiet but still close enough to A1 to make exploring Northumberland easy. The rooms are large and the beds are comfy. The owner provided us with plenty of information about the property prior to arrival and they provide a lot of the essentials you need for a self catering break such as tea bags, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. The hot tub came in handy for post exploration relaxing, the sun shines in the back garden all afternoon and it's not overlooked which is a bonus.
This is a very nice, spacious bungalow with excellent facilities good for someone with mobility issues although steps at front and back doors. It's an exceptionally quiet neighbourhood on the edge of the village, with a 20minute walk through farmland down to the beach. There were one or two minor issues re cleanliness and equipment, but nothing to spoil a really enjoyable holiday in a great holiday cottage.

We stayed for a week in this fantastic property and very much enjoyed our time here. The location is fantastic being close to lots of major attractions in Northumberland and only 4 miles from Alnwick. We were able to walk down to the beach and you can even sea the sea from the kitchen window! The house itself was very comfortable and felt like a home from home. It had everything we needed. The hot tub was a highlight and we made good use of it in the evenings to relax after a day of sightseeing. Communication with the owner, Bev, was fantastic leading up to our stay and during. Would highly recommend this place and we very much hope to return in the future.

This is a wonderful cottage in a brilliant area. The facilities are great, it was presented in a very clean condition, with everything you would need, plus a glorious hot tub. There is a superb beach in walking distant and you are in the middle of some of the best of the Northumberland coast. You can get to Newcastle, Durham or Edinburgh by car or train if you want to. We had a brilliant holiday.

Had a lovely week here with our family. Plenty of room for us all, hot tub was a lovely bonus, kids played in the garden area. The only thing we struggled with was the rubbish bin, the previous occupants had nearly filled the main bin, so we had to use separate bin bags and leave them at the side of the bin, but not sure if this was because bins are collected fortnightly in some areas, so hope it all got taken away the day we left as it was bin collection day. All in all a lovely quiet place to spend time, and very easy to get around and visit the surrounding area.
Beautiful holiday home in a great location. 10 minute drive from Alnwick, and a 20 minute walk down to the nearest beach. The house is well equipped, and the owner provides plenty of useful information before arrival, and is very responsive to queries. We'd definitely recommend The Croft for a peaceful stay.

This property is exactly as described, set in a quiet culdesac and only a 20 minute walk to the beach through wonderful countryside. The kitchen is well equipped, beds were comfortable and the whole place is very spacious. Fantastic large hot tub which was cleaned in the middle of our week too. The owner was readily contactable and responded swiftly to any questions or queries .Wouldnt hesitate to come back. Also the Running Fox cafe shop was a wonderful place to eat or purchase bread cake etc only 5 minute walk away

We had a lovely week staying at The Croft. The property was perfect and had everything we needed. Communication with the owner was brilliant before we arrived. Location is great, 20 minute walk to the beach, 10 minutes in the car to Alnwick and not far from other locations. The hot tub is an excellent addition, especially after long walks during the day. The sun room was beautiful to sit in and read. The area is quiet and is perfect for relaxing and having some time out. We would definitely book again at The Croft.
The property was lovely and was a great base for our family holiday. The location is perfect Longhoughton Beach is walkable, it's just a short drive to Alnwick, and also well placed for visits to all the other wonderful places along the Northumberland coast. The property itself was very comfortable plenty of space for the whole family, very comfortable beds, and a great hot tub to help you relax at the end of the day. Communication from the owner before arrival was great all info needed for the property and local area was provided. Overall, it was a great stay and we'd happily stay at The Croft again.

Lovely spacious bungalow in a quiet culdesac, close to the village amenities and the track to a lovely beach. Only a short drive to Alnwick and all it has to offer, and in easy range of Bamburgh and the beautiful Northumbrian coast and hills. A great base with lovely facilities to return to and relax at the end of the day.
